Othello Tunnels are located near Hope in Coquihalla Canyon, British Columbia. It's a long drive to find them, but it's rather beautiful and worth the trip. There are five tunnels that used to be a part of the Kettle Valley Railroad, which opened in 1915. It has since been abandoned and is often used in motion pictures these days. I think one of the more interesting features of these tunnels is the strange contrasting color hues due to the warm sunlight and cool moist rock at the top of the tunnels. Very strange, but very cool. The sounds of the river echo through the tunnels as you cross through and produces a very neat effect as well.
