8.20.2013 - A bit over 5 years ago I released my first album DIN. The execution of that album wasn't exactly planned, but it was essentially the result of around 3 years of work. For whatever reason I turned about half my living room into a bizarre world of electronic and analog instruments with a small area dedicated to sampling as well. In my spare time between motion picture projects I was taking on sound design, minor scoring, and foley gigs. However, also around this time I was working on my mind and self a great deal.
During that time frame I began experimenting, researching, and developing various meditation and lucid dreaming techniques. This began to influence my creative processes fairly clearly after some time in very big ways.
The music itself I would describe as a reactive electronic scoring experiment as most of it was written well past the witching hour often due to the great deal of noise that played out in my head during or after specific moments in my life between 2005-2008. This seemed to come out as I was diving deeper and through. This was somewhat private and personal work, but it did create sort of audio memory of that period.
2008 was a bit ago and looking back on it now as I'm knee deep into my second album which comes from a very different yet familiar place and is indeed a wholly different sound. DIN will always remind me that sometimes you just need to walk into the darkness to see what you can find. You can have as many expectations as you'd like, but until you make that journey you'll likely never truly know what will come of it.
The 5 year anniversary comes with 9 new tracks added into the mix and is now available everywhere.
